About Me
Hi! My name is Emily, and I'm a postgraduate student at The University of Edinburgh in the Data, Inequality, and Society program. After graduating with my master's, I hope to continue my journalism career by pursuing data journalism. Previously, I was a freelance multimedia journalist reporting on local politics in Somerville, Massachusetts. Before freelancing, I was a news reporter at Essex Media Group in Lynn, Massachusetts. I wrote for EMG's many publications, such as The Daily Item and Marblehead Weekly News. I graduated from Boston University with a degree in journalism in May 2022. Before graduating, I was the features editor for The Daily Free Press, a senior reporter at The Daily Free Press, and a staff writer for BU News Service.
